Krystal Gibson, Service Advisor at James Wood Motors in Decatur, has earned the GM Mark of Excellence Award. It caps a stretch of recognition that includes being named a Quarterly Outstanding Employee and the 2025 James Wood Motors Employee of the Year.
Recognition From Every Direction
Krystal won our recognition and award, and then a national award from General Motors arrived on its heels. Those two honors come from completely different judges. Employee of the Year reflects what we see inside the store: the work ethic, the follow-through, the way someone treats the people around them. The Mark of Excellence comes from outside. GM ranks service advisors across the country on customer satisfaction survey results, training certifications, and tenure, and the top performers earn the award. The satisfaction scores come straight from customers describing their own visits. When internal recognition and customer feedback point at the same person, that’s not luck. That’s someone doing the job right whether anyone is watching or not.
The Work Behind It
A service advisor sits at the busiest intersection in the dealership. Customers on one side, technicians on the other, parts and schedules and phone calls in between. The job is keeping every one of those moving while making each customer feel heard.Krystal makes that look simple. She listens to what your vehicle is doing, gives you a straight answer about what it needs, keeps you posted while the work happens, and gets you back on the road. The surveys her customers filled out told GM exactly that.
Congratulations, Krystal
Employee of the Year. Mark of Excellence Award Winner. What a great run, earned one customer at a time. Thank you, Krystal, for representing James Wood Motors the way you do. Decatur and Wise County are lucky to have you at the counter.
