What the Mark of Excellence Award Is
The Mark of Excellence is General Motors’ national recognition program for individual dealership employees. Unlike dealership-level awards, this one goes to a specific person for their own performance. GM ranks service advisors across the country on customer satisfaction survey results, completed GM training certifications, and tenure in the role. Only the top performers in each region earn the award.
That means this recognition came directly from the customers Shawn served. Every survey a customer fills out after a service visit counts toward the ranking. Shawn’s scores put him among the best GM service advisors in the country.
Who Shawn Is
If you’ve brought your Chevrolet, Buick, or GMC to our service department, there’s a good chance Shawn wrote your ticket. He’s the person who listens to what your vehicle is doing, translates it for the technicians, keeps you posted while the work happens, and walks you through the repair when you pick up.
That job only looks simple from the outside. Doing it well takes product knowledge, patience, and a habit of following through on every single vehicle. GM’s award confirms what our customers have been telling us in their reviews for years.
GM even sent Shawn a set of business cards with “Mark of Excellence Award Winner” printed under his name. He earned every one of them.
